Heaton pens new Burnley deal

Tom Heaton has signed a new four year contract with Burnley,.

The goalkeeper, who was part of England’s squad for Euro 2016 has been at Turf Moor since the summer of 2013 having signed from Bristol City.

He has since racked up one hundred and thirty-eight appearances for the Clarets and was ever-present in their 2014/15 Premier League campaign but was unable to help them avoid relegation to the Championship.

Heaton began his career with Manchester United but failed to make a senior appearance for them, gaining his game time in loan spells with Swindon Town, Royal Antwerp, Cardiff City, Queens Park Rangers, Rochdale and Wycombe Wanderers.

He was then sold to Cardiff City, where he spent two seasons before moving on to Ashton Gate.

Galatasaray seal Fernando signing from Manchester City

Galatasaray have completed the signing of midfielder Fernando from Manchester City.

The Turkish side confirmed the move had been finalised on Friday, a deal that will cost them a transfer fee of €5.25million, which could rise by a further €900,000 in bonuses.

Gala also revealed Fernando has signed a three-year deal and will earn an annual salary of €3.3m.

The 30-year-old spent three seasons with City, who he joined from Porto in 2014, but only started five Premier League matches in 2016-17, Pep Guardiola s first campaign in charge.

Barca have great future but Koeman urges patience following Champions League rout

Ronald Koeman said Barcelona have a great future but called for patience after their 5-1 Champions League rout of Ferencvaros.

Lionel Messi, Ansu Fati, Philippe Coutinho, Pedri and Ousmane Dembele were all on target for Barca, who made a winning start in Group G on Tuesday, while Gerard Pique was sent off in the second half.

Barca are coming off a tumultuous 2019-20 season, which saw the club dethroned by bitter rivals Real Madrid in LaLiga and humiliated 8-2 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Dele Alli called up by England, despite threat of ban

England have called up Dele Alli for the final round of World Cup qualifiers, despite the Tottenham midfielder potentially facing a ban.

Alli is the subject of a FIFA probe after he was caught on camera raising a one-fingered salute during England s 2-1 win over Slovakia at Wembley earlier this month.

Amid suggestions his gesture was aimed at referee Clement Turpin, Alli explained that it was in fact directed towards his former Spurs team-mate Kyle Walker.

England boss Gareth Southgate corroborated Alli s version of events immediately after the match, but admitted on Thursday that he ran the risk of appearing a shambles if the Spurs man has to miss out.

West Ham United are interested in signing Borussia Monchengladbach forward Breel Embolo in the summer transfer window, according to . It has been reported that the Hammers have have enquired about the availability of the 24-year-old Switzerland international.

The Hammers are wiling to spend £30 million on a new forward this summer. However, West Ham are also open to signing Embolo, and German club Monchengladbach themselves could allow the 24-year-old to leave on loan for the 2021-22 campaign.
