Chiefs Super Fan Charged With Bank Robbery Posts Bail, in Line for $100K Payout

A Kansas City Chiefs superfan, who allegedly robbed an Oklahoma bank in December, is out on bail and could be in line for a massive payout if the Chiefs win Super Bowl LVII.

Xaviar Michael Babudar, a Chiefs superfan who is well known on social media under his handle “ChiefsAholic,” was with armed robbery on Friday, Dec. 16, for his alleged involved in a bank robbery in Bixby, Oklahoma.

Babudar, who was being detained in a Tulsa County facility, posted $80,000 in bail on Wednesday, Feb. 8 and will not have to return until Friday, Feb. 24, for a preliminary court hearing. Good news for him, as Babudar currently holds two futures on the Kansas City Chiefs that could pay out $100,000 if the team wins Super Bowl LVII and Patrick Mahomes is named the league MVP tonight.

Sports Betting Pays Better Than Bank Robbing

Babudar is well known in the Chiefs community for his social media presence and for wearing a full wolf costume to all Chiefs home games and several of their away games. His twitter account has been silent since Dec. 16, which would make sense under the circumstances, since he was allegedly busy that day attempting to rob a bank in Oklahoma.

He s been incarcerated since that day. End of story? Oh no. An eagle-eyed reader alerted us to the fact that Babudar made two hefty futures bets on the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl and Mahomes winning the AP Most Valuable Player award.

It posed an interesting question. If the tickets had hit, and he was still in prison, would he be able to cash the winning bets? We that he would indeed be able to cash the tickets, as a Kansas sports betting rep said there were no specific sports betting rules or regulation barring his ability to do so.

But now? Babudar does not have to return to court until Feb. 24. It gives him more than enough time to cash in the tickets if they win, or at least mail them in as he has to wear an electronic monitoring device as part of his bail and may not be able to leave Oklahoma, and collect his winnings.

Here s Babudar s bail posting. It s official.

Babudar placed a $5,000 bet on Mahomes winning the MVP back in June that would pay out $45,000 if he wins the award at the NFL Honors program tonight.

Babudar placed another $5,000 back in April on the Chiefs winning Super Bowl LVII that will pay out $55,000 if they defeat the Eagles on Sunday.

We found Babudar’s address on a he levied against Robert Kraft and the New England Patriots this past September for an alleged “slip and fall” incident at Gillette Stadium. His hometown? Overland Park, Kansas.

Laws Murky if Imprisoned Individuals Can Cash Tickets

We previously reached out to the Kansas Lottery, which oversees Kansas sports betting, and a representative told us there are no specific state sports betting rules or regulations that pertains to an imprisoned individual cashing winning sports betting tickets.

The Kansas Lottery rep reached out to Penn Sports Interactive, which owns Barstool Sportsbook, for the answer. The Hollywood Casino’s retail sportsbook is operated by Barstool Sportsbook.

According to Penn Sports Interactive, a winning ticket is valid for 365 days after the event takes place and as long as any patron presents a winning ticket at the casino it has to be honored.

Is there a moral to this story? Sure. Don t get arrested for robbing banks and it will be a heck of a lot easier to cash your winning tickets.
